Do I have to register to list or edit my business?

Yes, you have to register to list a business on Fynde or to act on behalf of a business in any way.

What does it cost to list my business?

To list a business is absolutely free. We do, however, require you to provide a minimum set of content before we will publish your business listing. This includes the business’s contact details and description, service categories, areas served and keywords. We also require you, as part of the listing process, to email at least three real past customers (through the website) to request them to review your services. My business is listed on Fynde but I did not list it. Where did the details come from?

Businesses may be added to Fynde by any person who wants to review the services or products of any business, by business owners/representatives themselves, or by Fynde’s own research of businesses operating in selected categories.

My business is listed on Fynde but I did not list it. How do I edit the details or respond to reviews?

Go to your detailed business listing and click on ‘Is this your business?’ below the business description. After claiming the business as your own, you will be able to edit the business details, edit the logo and images, and also view and respond to reviews. You will also be able to access the email contact details of reviewers.

What does it cost to claim a business as owner or respond to user reviews?

To claim a business and respond to reviews is absolutely free. We do, however, require you to provide a minimum set of content before we will publish any changes to your business listing. This includes the business’s contact details and description, service categories, areas served and keywords. We also require you, as part of the listing process, to email at least three real past customers (through the website) to request them to review your services. My business has multiple locations/branches, should I add each one separately or add them as one business?

You can choose to do either, but keep the following in mind:

  • If your branches are truly independent and you prefer that sales enquiries and correspondence regarding reviews etc. be handled by each branch individually, it is better to have each business owner/manager register as a user and list each branch separately. Business details, logos, images etc. will have to be maintained separately for each branch. The average rating and number of reviews will then also be shown for each business/branch separately.
  • If you prefer that all branches share an average rating and reviews, it is better to create only one business listing. However, a business listing only allows one main set of contact details to be listed in the main contact card. This means that you will have to direct all sales enquiries internally between branches and that you will have to handle responses to reviews etc. centrally. If you want to list multiple branch locations, you can do this in your business description.

A business with the same name as my business already exists on Fynde. What do I do?

  • If the existing business listing IS YOUR BUSINESS, do not add a new business listing. Go to the existing business listing and click the ’Is this your business?’ link to 'claim' the business listing as its owner or representative. You can then edit its details, add a logo, images etc. and respond to reviews as the owner.
  • If the ’Is this your business?’ link does not appear below the business description, please Contact Us.
  • If the existing listing IS NOT YOUR BUSINESS but has the exact same name as your business, please add the location (or something else unique) to your business name to list your business.

My business is listed more than once on Fynde. What do I do?

What does ‘pending’ on the My Business page mean?

Some categories of information may require automated or manual approval from our systems before it is published. Please allow up to 72 hours for changes to be approved.

What are keywords and why don’t I see them in my business listing?

Keywords are not directly visible to users in your business listing, but are used extensively in searching for and finding your business on the site (and the internet). It is important to think carefully of any search words that you want your business to be found under – especially words that do not appear in your business description.

What are invited and uninvited reviews?

Fynde asks business owners to submit customer details to allow Fynde to invite or request reviews on their behalf. If a customer submits a review from such an invitation it is marked as an invited review. If a customer submits a review without such an invitation it is marked as an uninvited review. All reviews on the site are marked as either invited or uninvited. We employ various measures to ensure that all reviews are real and independent.

What are invited reviewers?

We want to encourage customers to and rate and review your services and products. Instead of this happening secretively, we ask that you invite customers to review your business through Fynde. All reviews on the site are marked as being invited or uninvited, to promote transparency. We encourage you to invite as many customers as you want, and to continue to invite customers on an ongoing basis. THE ONLY PROVISO IS THAT THEY MUST BE REAL CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE ACTUALLY USED YOUR SERVICES.

We use various methods to monitor your invited reviewers and their reviews to asses if they are real. If we have any doubts, we reserve the right to: remove your invitations from the site; remove any previous reviews we deem suspect; post a notice on your business listing alerting users to treat all reviews with caution; and/or suspend or delete your business listing from the site.

What do we do with the contact details of invited reviewers?

We send them an email on your behalf requesting them to review your business. A customer may receive one reminder email and can unsubscribe at any time if they do not want to receive further emails.

WE WILL NEVER:

  • Display your customer/invited reviewer’s details publicly (except their name, if they submit a review)
  • Share your customer/invited reviewer details with anyone
  • Use you invited reviewer details in any way except to request a review on YOUR behalf.

Once a reviewer registers on Fynde they may agree to additional functions of the Fynde service.

What happens after a user submits a review?

We may use various automated and/or manual methods to assess a review prior to publication. Once the review is published, an email will be sent to either the business owner or the main business email address, with a link to the review. You may choose to respond publicly to the review or to contact the reviewer personally to resolve any issues.

Are the reviewer’s personal details shared with me?

Fynde does not encourage anonymous reviews. We would like reviewers to stand behind their reviews and for business owners to be able to resolve complaints directly with reviewers. If the reviewer was invited by you, the details are obviously known to you, but you can also access the details under your Invited Reviewers list. If the review was uninvited, you will see the reviewer’s full name and email address listed along with the review. You may, of course, already have the reviewer’s full details from your dealings with them.

How do I view and respond to a review?

You can see all your reviews by going to My Business > Reviews. Click ‘View’ to see the detailed review and to reply to the review.

What happens after I respond to a review?

We may use various automated and/or manual methods to assess your response prior to publication. We may reject any review if it does not meet our Content Guidelines. Once your response is published, a notification email will be sent to the reviewer.

Can the reviewer respond to my reply?

Yes, the reviewer can submit an additional comment after their review. The one additional comment can be submitted either before or after your reply.

Can the reviewer change their rating and review after submitting it?

The reviewer can change the rating but cannot change the original review text. If, for example, a complaint has been resolved after the review, the reviewer can change the rating and also submit an additional comment. The one additional comment can be submitted either before or after your response.

Can a reviewer delete their review?

No, but the reviewer can change the rating and submit an additional comment. The one additional comment can be submitted either before or after your reply.

What do I do if I believe the review or additional comment is abusive?

Please report it to us by clicking ’Report as Abuse’ below the review or additional comment. You can access this by going to My Fynde > My Reviews and viewing the specific review and business response.

Can I delete my business listing from Fynde?

If your business does not have any reviews, you can Contact Us to remove it from Fynde. If it was added by a user or has any reviews, it cannot be removed. If the business has closed down, please Contact Us.
